Any idea what works best for a turbocharged Pontiac? Rope or a one of the viton seals. I have both. A new DCI rope and a BOP viton seal to use. My 455 is coming down for refreshing this winter and with the turbo installed I was wondering if one or the other is better. The BOP I installed last time has been leaking and I would rather give up a little drag for a good seal. Mark L

I like the viton seals thats what I run in my engine.
I would seal it up the best I could and I would definately run a vac pump.
I run a smog pump from an isuzu pup. it works great. !3 inches at idle.
Thats better than my friends moroso.

Is that an electric pump or crank driven? Any specific id word for looking up on e-bay? Thanks for the info. My BOP seal leaked but I will never say it was not my fault. Not sure of my seal application abilities. The ropes I've put in for years have both leaked and not leaked so who knows. I think the design of the lip on the viton seal is a plus to seal better against pressure versus the rope though. Mark L

It is crank driven the only electric that is able to do the job is the porsche pump and its $350 wholesale. the chevy and fords don't pull enough vac.
The isuzu pup pump is an 87 with a 1.8 liter I beleive and they are $75.00 from napa reman. and probably cheaper thru autozone etc.
Its a great little pump but make sure the pulley comes with it.
The ully isn't very deap groove either so run some sort of guide close to the belt(over the top) Thats how I run mine and I never toss the belt.
I turn it off a double grove alt pulley.
It workes really well.
And its dirt cheap!
Get a moros catch cam with breather and just run heater hose lines. I even have a Y witha vac gauge so I can keep an eye on how well its working.
4 years and still going strong and mine was a used part.

Got any pics of your Izuzu pump install? Would like to see them if you have any. You can PM them to me if you want. I just took some of my turbo install so far, I'll PM them to you. What are you using for a fuel pump? I just won an A1000 and am waiting for it to arrive. I'll go to a 13202 regulator as I get more parts together. I see the 13202 only goes to 20 psi. What do you run for boost? Thanks Jeff for your info. Mark L
