I just got a 89 Gt Mustang that my older brother gave me for my birthday, but has some problems. First problem is when I drive the car and come to a stop it will sometimes rev by itself, like it gets stuck or something. And the only way to make it stop is when I turn the car off then on again and its begining to bug me a lot. My second problem is when I start my car the oil needle gauge drops down, and when I give it gas it will go back up. The only work that has been done to the car was a mecanic replaced the oil pump and put a new oil pan and gasket. My modds are 4.10 gears, aluminum driveshat, stainles steel flowmasters and a accel ignition coil.

First, the reving problem sounds like you need to reset the TPS sensor, there a page on this website that can help you out with that. second, the oil needle what pressure is it indicating when it drops down to and what oil pump did they put back in it.

Sounds lie yo uneed to clean or replace your IAC (thing on the side of the TB)

The oil pressure problem could be your sending unit, or just a worn out motor.

here's how you cna check your tps voltage. first, put the ignition key to the on position with the engine not running. you might have to shave a little insulation off to get to the wire. put the positive lead of your multimeter on the green wire going to the tps and the negative lead on one of the screws. you should read .98 volts DC. you're probably gonna see more voltage if that is your problem. loosen the screws and adjust it to read .98 vdc. you might have to drill out the holes in the plastic on the tps toget it to adjust
