Here are a few pics of what i plan on installing in my truck over the next few weeks / months hehe... It is a TPI that has been modded by Fuel Injection Specialties (http://www.fuelinjection.com/) they specialize in tweaking fuel injection systems. So we will see. I am looking at getting tunercat and a romulator so i am tweak the tune. It came with a 730 that has been tweaked for boost. They said i should be ok with a stock motor with that calibration as it dont make any drastic changes untill it sees boost... so wish me luck... we will see.

I am considering a painless wiring harness to make things even easier.. thoughts?

Mike

Painless is expensive, but when I was offered a similar TPI setup (computer, intake, distro, wire harness, etc..) the painless was still suggested. They are expensive but I hear well worth the money in time of hookup.

I think they run around 500 bucks or so. considering I was paying 500 for the setup and then looking at another 500 just for wiring, I backed out of the deal. I think I could get a complete wrecked car for $1000 and do the LT1 swap cheaper. Plus then I get the disk brakes, ABS, fuel tank, and the 8.5" 10 bolt rear end plus the 4L60E tranny.

ps.. painless wiring harnesses are 350$ from summit... you dont really need it. you just need to know what you have where. I have a factory harness and i have it all pretty much figured out... Now i just need the TPI Gasket kit and a external fuel pump...

got a couple different swaps commin up. One in the wagon, getting engine and tranny out of 92 chev truck. this way I get the TBI and the 700R4 tranny with the fourth gear for the Hwy.

The other one is getting an LT1 setup for the 67 Impala SS and going that way with it. I figure a wrecked Z28 or so will do for the swap but need to figure gas to the fuel rail that is easy....

hey Mike, did you already get the turbos?

TurboMike

nope... not yet... i can get both 60s for about 1200$ so... i am savin fer em... then it will just be BOV, Wastegates, intercooler, and piping hehe... the fuel injection has already been tweaked with a 2 bar map so i should be good on the fuel injection side. The computer has a Fuel Injection Specialties chip and they looked it up and said with the 2 bar map i wont have any problems with the 42lb injectors... just time to get that on... the headers AA/Paul is gonna help me with...

I will need it after the weddin too because then I will have a boat to haul around.....

Not sayin that the truck can't hang but sure would do alot better with a little positive pressure on the cylinders!

well, depends on where holland park is.....Ima not sure...

I need to get it registered on base so I can start driving it to work. I am currently trying to strike a deal for a rolled 92 K1500 truck to rob the 350 TBI, and the 700R4 tranny out of it for the wagon. This way I can have the fuel injection and the fourth gear for the Interstate to go on those long family trips, and get some decent gas mileage out of it! Right now its a 350/350 setup and I am sketchy bout those long trips. I don't mind taking it down to pueblo for friday night drags or canon city for some stuff but I want to take it to longer places for some out of state car shows and meets...

I have had it up on Academy Blvd once or twice and gotten many complements. One guy even asked if it was for sale! I still gotta chop the back springs one coil and find some windowtint, the dog dish covers for the chrome reverse, and finish putting all the chrome and emblems back on. I will try to get some more pix on site...
